On June 24, Iranian Superstar Andy Madadian went into an LA recording studio with Jon Bon Jovi, Richie Sambora and American record producers Don Was and John Shanks to record a musical message of worldwide solidarity with the people of Iran.

This version of the old Ben E. King classic is not for sale - it was not meant to be on the Billboard charts or even manufactured as a CD.....it's intended to be downloaded and shared by the Iranian people...to give voice to the sentiment that all people of the world stand together....the handwritten Farsi sign in the video translates to "we are one".

Unexpected

I've spent a long time believing "Hope for the best, expect the worst, one day you're blessed, the next you're cursed" (yes, Mel Brooks did shape my life philosophy).

I just went back to my first post ever in my first blog ever - that would be here - and realized that I didn't post every day. As a matter of fact, I distinctly remember thinking it was absolutely ludicrous that I would ever have or need a blog. Sure, I talk a lot but I really don't have anything worthwhile to say. I know that, accept it and really thought that this would be a place to just rattle off a few things once a week or two.

Now, almost a year later, I find myself here on VOX dozens of times during the day. There are people whom I will never meet but can't help but think of as old friends. There are people whom I admire for so many different reasons. There are people I'd love to ask loads of questions or just sit and absorb them.

It is wholly unexpected that every day I have the opportunity to find minds with wonderful thoughts, interesting ideas, incredible wit and heartfelt generosity.

I've always felt that good neighbors are better than anything else and I have those in my physical life. I truly did not imagine that I would have the same kinds of folks surrounding me in this online life.

How lucky am I?!?
